While our reluctant prophet is drawn far, away from Alexandria on an uncertain adventure, our narrative now shifts to the darkened halls of Herod the Great’s palace in Jerusalem. There, brooding deeply in the gloom of night, he receives a series of visitors from the past that remind him of many things he would rather forget. Herod is forced to confront the blackness of his own soul, before he is awakened by a strange light.
